The pub is often the heart of the community ... and the publican's heart to serve the community as best as possible is a huge part in keeping the suicide rate as low as possible.

The stats:
During the pandemic that was Covid19, mental health cases and isolation rose. (There was a 26% increase in calls to Alcohol and Drug information Service in July 2020 compared to 2019 and 43% more mental health presentations at the Women's and Children's Hospital Emergency Department in August 2020 compared to 2019.)
Now more than ever it is imperative that Publicans show support and inclusivity to all their patrons, and their mental health, and equally customers show their support for Publicans doing the right thing around inclusivity and mental health support.
What is also important is how people needing mental health support are identified and what can be done to address their needs, even if they are unaware of it.

- Eight Australians die every day by suicide. That's more than double the road toll.
- 75% of those who take their own life are male.
- Over 65,000 Australians make a suicide attempt each year.
- Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians between the ages of 15 and 44.
- People in rural populations are 2 time more likely to die by suicide.
