WHAT MAKES AN AUSSIE PUB GREAT?
All over this great brown land you'll find pubs filled with character and characters.
Not just a place to go for a drink, they've become the heart of the community, part of Australian folklore, myth, history and campfire songs.
In 2023 we define a great pub as one run by great people.
But what makes a great person?
Current research suggests kindness is regarded as the no.1 leadership trait.
So if youre a publican, leading your community, and you run your pub with empathy and kindness for your patrons we consider you to be great.
Which is why we'll soon be rolling out mental health support specifically for pubs which will help make good pubs better, and better pubs even greater.

Suicide Prevention Campaign
Meet Rick and Lois Prest of The Mount Compass Hotel, South Australia. These good people have signed up for The Pub Whisperer Support Over Suicide training.
It's all about strengthening the community by providing quiet conversations to prevent silent deaths.
Staff are trained to know what to see, hear, say and do if they suspect someone in the community doing it tough that enters their pub is considering suicide.
