Stay tuned. We’re having a best pub competition and we want your votes.

We’re shortlisting the best pubs down south (of Adelaide) and we want your favourite (doesn’t have to be your local) on the list.

Some reasons may include: friendliest bar staff, delicious food, best hospitality, mental health awareness, most inclusive of the community, best fundraisers and kindest publican.

Nominate it in the comments below. Along with your reason.

(All nominated pubs will need to commit to having The Great Aussie Pubs Suicide Prevention Checklist hung up in the office or behind the scenes somewhere for bar staff and publicans to research as needed to save lives).

The winning pub will get a discounted photo shoot, video and listing on the Great Aussie Pubs website and have the chance to be seen in our upcoming TV show on Channel 44, Adelaide.

We’ll be sending out the post through Facebook and Instagram advertising so we reach just about everyone down south that’s on FB and Insta.

The Tumba Hotel in Tumbarumba, NSW is the second pub to get involved in the Pubs Supporting People Day.

The area was ravaged by fires last year and as a result a huge amount of the local's employment was affected.

But the town and its people have pulled together and are ready to celebrate and come together in this long table lunch.

So save the date. And make your way there. April 10!

Tickets are $10 and that raises money for mental health research and solutions and it gets you a soft drink or O.J. On the purchase of your meal.

Dan and Jono, The Pub Whisperers, will be making a talk to the locals who could number over 100. And they’ll be doing some filming for the Great Aussie Pubs website and upcoming TV show too.

There’ll be two places to eat - up top and on the ground floor - and in both locations Sue, Greg and the team will be pushing tables together to create a long table lunch from Midday.

It’s a day we can celebrate the publicans doing a great job of looking after their community and their patron’s mental health.
